Fireworks in Michigan
Oakland Township fireworks ordinances coincide with the State of Michigan Laws on Fireworks as listed under Township Code 8-32. Under the Michigan Fireworks Safety Act 256 of 2011, these are the guidelines for setting off fireworks.
In Michigan you may set off your legally store bought fireworks on the National holidays, the day before and the day after. It is not allowed after midnight through 8am, except on New Year’s Day when the deadline is 1am. You must be 18 years or older to buy fireworks and you cannot be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while setting off the fireworks.
